Wonders of the Amazon day tour

The Arapaima, scientifically known as Arapaima gigas, is a species of freshwater fish that hails from the Amazon River basin in South America. It is renowned for being one of the largest freshwater fish species in the world.

During the tour we will visit a farm where the fish are grown and you can also feed the fish.

The tour finishes around 2:30PM.

You will start the Wonders of the Amazon tour with a visit of the famous Teatro Amazonas. This opera house in renaissance style has opened its doors in 1896 and is still in use today.

After the visit of the Teatro Amazonas you will continue to the harbor of Manaus to visit the local markets that are located around the harbor.

In the harbor, you will board of a ship that will take you to the world famous Meeting of the Water. This is the place where the dark water of the Rio Negro and the muddy water of the Solimões river meet to form the Amazon river.

However due to the physical differences of the two rivers the merging doesn’t occur for several kilometers. Our experienced guide will explain you all the details.

After a lunch with local dishes and fruits, we will explore one of the smaller rivers that lead into the Amazon. This gives you the opportunity to see various types of wildlife and some amazing plants, including the famous victoria amazonica with its enormous leaves.

The boat will cruise the wide Amazon river to take you to the wonder of the Amazon, the pink river dolphins. This species only exists in the Amazon delta and is known for its long mouth and pink color.

You have the unique opportunity to have a swim with these amazing animals and experience how curious and friend- ly they are. A trained dolphin expert will accompany you during your swim and take care of your safety.
